Finding Sponsorship Student Travel

Most college and high school students need to work for a variety of reasons, though they are usually saving for tuition or travel and they need to get relevant work experience before graduation. Students need to find the best jobs that suit their schedules and they want to find work that is career-relevant or offers opportunities for promotion.

Students Use Networking to Find Work

To find work, students often use readily available classified ads or posters on their campus. Networking is actually far more effective. Opportunities provided by family and friends can offer jobs with small businesses, internships and summer jobs. Students can also use their network to determine if the job is suitable for them.

Students should use their close connections to network for positions since they already have an "in" with their friends and family. With their sometimes limited work experience, students are usually unaware of recruitment incentive programs offered by employers. A recruitment incentive is a program where an employer offers a finder's fee or a gift, like a gift card, to find a suitable employee for a position. These types of programs are common in the health services industry, to find nurses and doctors, but many different types of employers will offer them. A recommendation from a friend could lead to a cash bonus for that friend if the student is hired and works for the employer for a certain amount of time, usually six months.
